Day 1

Arrive at Ben Gurion International Airport where you will be met by our representative.  We will board our bus and drive north along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea to Kibbutz Ma’agan Michael.  This kibbutz is known for its fisheries and fish growing.  After visiting the fish ponds and fisheries, we will continue to Haifa for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 2 

In the morning, we will drive to Bethlehem of Galilee, a small agricultural community.  Here we visit the herb and spice farm, the largest of its kind in Israel.  We will receive explanations about different spices and herbs.  Continue to Israel’s Agricultural Research Center (ARO) in Beit She’arim.  In the afternoon, we’ll drive to the “Cow’s Way” milk and dairy farm.  Here we will see a modern cow shed, an area dedicated for young cows and the most modern robotic milking plant.  Later we will visit a kibbutz and see the various agricultural enterprises.  Return to Haifa for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 3

In the morning, we will visit a boutique winery in the Galilee region.  These wineries take advantage of the unique soil and weather conditions to produce some of the world’s best wines.  Continue to Acre, an ancient city with ruins from the Ottoman, Crusader and Arab periods.  We will descend to the underground city and see the ancient ruins.  Acre today is on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.  Return to Haifa and for a magnificent view of the world famous Bahai Shrine and Gardens.  Dinner and overnight in Haifa.

 

Day 4

We start the day with a boat ride of the Sea of Galilee.  We visit Capernaum, Tabgha and Tiberias.  On to the Jordan Valley where we visit Kibbutz Sde Eliyahu, where we will have the Bio Tour.  We visit the biological pest control plant and the kibbutz itself.  On to a fruit growing area (hot houses and open fields) as well as a storage and packing facility.  Arrive to Jericho for a visit to the one of the world’s most ancient cities.  Dinner and overnight at the Dead Sea.

 

Day 5

In the early morning, we will visit the Vidor Center – a desert agriculture research center.  Arava Valley (Zofar Community) for a visit to the Green Arava organic growing enterprises.  On to Kibbutz Hatzerim for a visit to the world’s largest irrigation plant – Netafim.  Continue to Ashalim to view a farm where agricultural activity takes place in the desert with saltwater.  Arrive at Kibbutz Mashabe Sade for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 6

In the morning, we will visit Moshav Lachish and its large grape growing and processing plant.  “Tali Grapes” is one of the world’s most unique such plants using the desert conditions to grow unique and superb grapes.  On to the Tel Aviv area, where we will visit Beit Dagan Agricultural Research Center (Vulcani Institute).  This is one of the world’s most advanced research facilities and is home to many researchers and students.  On to visit “Igudan”, the Tel Aviv area municipal water treatment plants.  Drive to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 7

Full day of sightseeing in Jerusalem, including the Old City, Via Dolorosa, Mount Zion, Western Wall, Holy Sepulcher and the busy markets.  Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

 

Day 8

In the morning we will visit Jaffa, the oldest port city in the world.  We will see Simon The Tanner’s House and the alleys full of shops and galleries.  Transfer to the airport for departure.

    Suggest when the visit is possible with all costs included. Visa formalities and correct season when the fruiting can be seen.
