It was here that archeologists found King Hezekiah’s 2,700 year-old water tunnel, one of the wonders of early engineering, and the seal impression of Gemariah, son of Shaphan, possibly the scribe of King Zedekiah (Jeremiah 36:10).

Our journey continues to the Pool of Siloam, where Christ healed the blind man by sending him to wash his eyes (John 9), and the Valley of the Royal Tomb.

In the Jewish Quarter, we’ll explore the Roman Cardo, the Madaba Map, the Western Wall and the Davidson Center (with its amazing virtual model of the Second Temple).

We will view the Temple Mount, we’ll hear about the traders driven out of the Temple by Jesus (Luke 19:45-48), and we’ll see the Dome of the Rock, along with other famous buildings. We’ll visit Bethesda, where Christ healed the paralyzed man (John 5). Our journey through the Via Dolorosa (The Way of the Cross) will end at the Church of Holy Sepulchre. Day 9 – June 9th – Tue– Tomb of Israelites, Shiloh, Valley of Elah, Israel Museum, Farewell Dinner

On our way we will stop at “Kubur Bnei Israel”, an ancient site at the Beth El mountains. The name means “the Tombs of the Israelites”, and originates from an Arabic tradition that links the site with the Israelite’s journey to the land of Canaan.

We’ll drive to Jerusalem via The Valley of Elah, where David fought Goliath.

We’ll then proceed to Israel Museum, and view the miniature model of the city of Jerusalem, as it appeared in the time of the Second Temple before the great rebellion and its subsequent destruction. There, we will get to see the Shrine of the Book, which houses the ancient Dead Sea Scrolls (time permitting).

We will get to enjoy some shopping at the colorful markets of Jerusalem. We will end our trip with our farewell dinner.

Overnight stay in Jerusalem.

Day 10 – June 10th – Wed – Flight back to the U.S.

After an early breakfast, we’ll drive to the airport for the flight back home.

We return home full of rich and unforgettable memories. A common refrain is heard — is the trip really over?  Can we start planning for our return visit?
